Message from Norfolk Tourism's Chairman, Richard Ellis

"London 2012 is literally a 'once in a lifetime' opportunity. And it is not just about a few weeks of sports – it is a massive opportunity to raise the profile of Norfolk as the closest major holiday destination to London. The positive impact of the Olympic Games for Tourism in the UK is already beginning with tickets on sale – and it will last not just for the next 15 months, but for at least 4 years after the Games. That is well documented from previous host nations.

Minimising the challenges and maximising the opportunities for those of us in the Tourism industry in Norfolk will need collective action, and that work has started. It will also need individual businesses to use the right messages and understand what they need to do themselves – and that is what this toolkit is all about. I urge you to make the most of the Toolkit and help us all to make the most of this great opportunity for Tourism in Norfolk. We have an unrivalled offer here, we are ready to welcome more visitors – and we are Closer to London than many people think…"
